Our story

FourLeaf was founded by Robyn Smith and Seamus Lynch, built on a strong relationship developed over four years working together on Seamus’s business, Chill Insurance, where Robyn served as the Investor Director. During that time, they gained a deep understanding of what founders truly need from private capital partners. They saw first-hand how traditional investors often fall short, offering rigid deal structures and limited post-investment support.

The FourLeaf team believed there was a better way - one that offered more flexibility in how deals are structured and a more collaborative, hands-on approach to working with founders. FourLeaf was created to fill that gap, with a mission to back ambitious entrepreneurs while offering the kind of support and partnership that we believe maximises the results and experience for private equity backed founders.

We look for businesses with a clear plan to drive 20%+ annual growth through sales, product expansion, pricing, or strategic acquisitions.

This can include organic levers such as expanding sales teams, entering new markets, launching new products, or optimising pricing. We also support inorganic growth through targeted acquisitions that enhance scale, capability, or market position.

We look for founders who can articulate a focused growth plan and are ready to accelerate with the right capital and support.

A clear path.

We seek businesses with a clear plan to double EBITDA in 4 years, with flexible hold periods based on the asset and growth journey.

This could involve expanding into new markets, enhancing product offerings, or streamlining operations for better efficiency. Our investment approach offers flexibility in hold periods, as we tailor our strategy to the specific needs and growth trajectory of each business, whether that requires a longer-term commitment or a quicker exit depending on the situation.

High QoE

We target businesses with recurring, reoccurring, or long-term contracted revenue for greater visibility and stability.

This structure not only ensures greater stability but also strengthens the business's ability to reinvest and scale. Whether it’s through subscription models, service contracts, or long-term agreements, we seek companies that have built a solid foundation for sustainable growth and can weather economic fluctuations more effectively.

Equity sweet spot.

We typically invest €10–15m per deal, with flexibility to go above or below based on the opportunity.

We offer flexible capital structures, including minority or majority stakes, and both structured and unstructured deals.
